Supporting Every Child: SEND & Pastoral Care

Supporting Every Child: SEND & Pastoral Care

Every child can succeed

At Woodhouse Academy, every child matters.

We are fortunate to have a highly skilled and experienced SEND team, consisting of our SENDCo and ten dedicated Teaching Assistants.

Working closely with students, families and teachers, our SEND team ensures that every child receives the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to overcome barriers and achieve success.

Our commitment is simple:

Every child deserves the opportunity to flourish.

Supporting students academically, socially and personally

We understand that children succeed when they feel known, supported and valued.

Our pastoral systems ensure that every student has a strong network around them. Through close relationships with Form Tutors, Key Stage Leaders and our Pastoral Support Officer, students always have trusted adults available to guide and support them.

Our approach ensures that students develop not only academically, but also socially and personally, preparing them to become confident, resilient and responsible young people.

Making a difference beyond our school

We want our students to become active and contributing members of society.

Through our Community Programme, every form group identifies meaningful ways to contribute to the local community. Students work together to develop ideas, support others and make a positive difference.

This helps young people understand that success is not only about personal achievement, but also about how we contribute to the world around us.
