SEND

At Woodhouse Academy, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. As a nurturing, and ambitious middle school where every child is known and valued, we are deeply committed to ensuring that all students—regardless of their background, needs, or abilities—feel a true sense of belonging and are fully included in all aspects of school life.

Grounded in The Woodhouse Way, our inclusive culture shapes how we learn, how we support one another, and how we show respect. We believe that children thrive when their unique strengths are celebrated and when they are provided with the right challenge and encouragement to achieve their very best.

Our approach to meeting diverse needs is built upon a graduated response, utilizing a comprehensive range of additional supports and adaptations in the classrooms, alongside our specialized SEND toolkits to ensure every learner receives targeted guidance. By combining these proactive strategies with the nurturing relationships of a close-knit community, subject-specialist expertise, and a rich, accessible curriculum, we champion an environment where every learner can flourish, build independence, and take pride in their place within our school family.

We believe in a strong, collaborative partnership with families. If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please speak to your child’s form teacher or Mrs Timbey the SENDCO or drop in at our half termly SEN coffee afternoons.

The school SENCO is readily available to answer questions or provide further information. By combining these proactive strategies, open communication, and nurturing relationships, we champion an environment where every learner can flourish, build independence, and take pride in their place within our school family.
