Safeguarding

Woodhouse Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of all students and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We strive to ensure that consistent and effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, students and staff at school. Mrs Joanna Stevenson is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact the school on 01782 973600.

A copy of our safeguarding policy can be found under policies

Useful contact numbers

  • If you have any safeguarding concerns outside normal school hours, please contact Staffordshire Children's Advice and Support Service on 0300 111 8007

  • If a child is in immediate danger call 999

Helpful websites:

  • Childline With Childline, you can talk about anything. Whether it's something big or small, their trained counsellors are there to support you. You can also call 0800 1111 to speak to someone over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • Glow Glow is a domestic abuse support service for young people: it is for young people who are living in a household with domestic abuse, young people who have previously lived in a household with domestic abuse and for young people who find themselves in an abusive relationship. It is important to remember that domestic abuse is not just physical; emotional abuse is also harmful

  • National Online Safety Although typically a subscription service, National Online Safety have produced guides for parents around so many of the apps that young people download, the streaming services that they access and general online safety information. The images earlier on this page have come from their free-to-access service. They are an excellent support tool for parents and carers (and indeed a useful tool in discussion with your children)
